Abstract

Towards the end of the Ming Dynasty period, there was a monograph entitled: “Kuang Ling Nu Shih Dien Tsui廣陵女士殿最” in which “national beauty(國色)” and “heavenly fragrance(天香)” were mentioned together. At the same period, a literature series "Pin Hua Jian品花箋" also recommended the “fine flowers(名花)” and “devastatingly beautiful(傾國)”, both of which present a pattern of writings that associated flowers with beauties. "Pin Hua Jian品花箋", this literature series, is a collection of books in the form of short or small poetry papers, catalogs which show the materiality of the medium in which the works were written and the relevance of the narrative of the emerging “Pulu譜錄” writings of the Song Dynasty. This paper attempts to examine two aspects. First, the establishment of similar examples of “Pulu譜錄” in the bibliography and the cumulative diffusion of knowledge from the Song to Ming Dynasties. Secondly, the correspondence relationship and knowledge pedigree of "Pin Hua Jian品花箋" type works. The author will introduce the perspective of the bibliography to organize the emergence of "Pulu譜錄" in the Song Dynasty and its knowledge patterns and examine the expansion of “flower manuals花譜” into teaching materials through knowledge and the visualization graph dictionary. In this paper, the author considers the "Pin Hua Jian品花箋" and the genre writings as the multi-dimensional resultant of the “flower manuals花譜” cumulative diffusion of the Song Dynasty and explores, addresses the diversity of these issues in terms of correspondence relationship and knowledge pedigree.
